MADISON CONNECTION

ICE BREAKER

Turn to someone next to you and discuss how you would get someone to donate to JMU.

BACKGROUND INFO

Madison Connection is JMU's student-staffed call center. The Madison Connection team calls alumni, parents and friends of the University in an attempt to connect people back to their Madison Experience as well as working to bring in donations to the University. The Madison Connection staff are true ambassadors for JMU.

Madison Connection is located in Sonner hall in James Madison University’s campus in Harrisonburg Virginia. The call center is a sub-division of the office of annual giving and the manager for the call center is the telefund coordinator Jordan Williams. He also works for the Office of Annual Giving and is the liaison between the Office of Annual Giving and the Madison Connection call center.

The Madison Connection call center was started in the 80’s in an effort to get more funds for the University to grow and continue to run. Before the call center was created, JMU received 60%+ of its funding from the state. Since the 80’s this percentage has decreased to almost 20% and Madison Connections goal is to achieve funding to make up for that missing 40%.
