PROCESS ANALYSIS

Since Madison Connection operates with a 3-ask structure, the employees do not simply hang up after the donor says no for the first time.

For the first ask, they will ask for a 1.5% upgrade of whatever amount the donor gave last year.  Although it’s uncomfortable, the employees will ask 2 additional times if they say no to the first ask.

For the second ask, they will ask the donor for the same amount they gave the previous year.

The third and final ask is a “participation ask,” meaning the employee will ask the donor for whatever amount they are willing to give, even if it is the $5 minimum.

Only after they say no to the third ask is it appropriate by Madison Connection standards to hang up.
